A MIGRATORY MARSH SANCTUARY
IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN

Welcome to the Woodpile Foundation — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection, conservation, and preservation of Wisconsin’s natural ecosystems. Founded by Robert and Christine Faulks in 2019, the Foundation’s first major project is the Woodpile Wildlife Refuge: a 300-acre wetland and forested upland complex in the City and Town of Waupaca. This ecologically rich site supports diverse wildlife and plays a vital role in the regional food chain. Through scientific land management, public education, and accessible design, we aim to protect this invaluable resource for generations to come.

In the end, we conserve only what we love

We will love only what we understand

We will understand only what we are taught
